Relax. Unwind. Slip away…and “ESCAPE.” The power of music as a force for relaxing, re-charging and revitalizing is the theme of platinum-selling artist Jim Brickman’s debut release on the SLG Record label, “ESCAPE.”
It’s no surprise that Jim Brickman -- who juggles an active career as composer, recording artist, radio personality and concert headliner -- would know the value of music as an important healing tool for relaxing after a stressful day. But it wasn’t until he met with fans after his concert performances that that he realized how often his music was played as a soothing antidote to the hectic demands of everyday life. When a young couple confided that they couldn’t unwind after a harried day without playing the songs of Jim Brickman, the creator of such hits as “Valentine,” “The Gift” and “Love of My Life” was inspired to write, perform and produce “ESCAPE,” an album of fresh new solo piano and pop vocal compositions.
Gathering together some of the brightest young rising stars in the music industry to perform on the new album with him, Jim Brickman‘s “ESCAPE” features appearances by Sara Evans -- the Academy of Country Music’s “Female Vocalist of the Year” for 2006 -- the warm and sensual voice of R&B star Gerald Levert, and smooth jazz guitarist extraordinaire Marc Antoine.
Jim Brickman will give his fans the opportunity to “ESCAPE” with him this autumn as he begins a five-month tour of North America beginning November 3. The official release date for SLG Records’ “ESCAPE” will be October 3.
