The Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum is committed to providing equal accessibility to our guests. Designated seating is provided for guests with disabilities. This seating is available for all events, in all price levels at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum. DEAF/HEARING IMPAIRED POLICY
The Knoxville Civic Auditorium will provide Interpreters for shows in which individuals have made requests for interpreters pursuant to the following:
Purchasing Tickets:
Individuals needing interpreters should call the coliseum ticket office to purchase tickets Monday – Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The numbers are (865) 544-5394 (TTY) and (865) 215-8999 (Voice).
Ticket Purchases must be made at least fourteen (14) business days in advance of the Shows date to allow all scripts, music sheets, or other pertinent information, to be forwarded to the interpreters for the purpose of practicing the show materials.
Seating:
A block of seating consisting of twenty (20) seats is reserved for patrons who are deaf/ hearing impaired. This seating is reserved until two (2) weeks prior to the show, at which time, if no patrons have purchased these tickets, or requested an interpreter, the tickets are released and sold to the general public consistent with all other seats.
Advertisement:
In the event that a show runs for more than one day, one of the shows will be designated as the interpreted show. If possible, the chosen date will be on the weekend. For example, if a show runs from Wednesday through Sunday, the interpreted show will likely be on a Friday or Saturday.
The Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum urges promoters to advertise all shows intended to be interpreted in the same manner (i.e. newspaper and television adds); However because promoters run their own advertising, this does not always happen. Therefore a mailing list is compiled of mailing and electronic addresses of people whom wish to be made aware of upcoming interpreted shows. These people will be notified more then two weeks prior to the interpreted show(s) date. (No telephone notifications will be made)
WHEELCHAIR/SCOOTER POLICY
The Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum has designated seating sections for guests who require the use of mobility devices (wheelchairs/scooters.) Due to space limitations, the Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum has the following ticket policy: guests who use mobility devices and require the use of designated seating are allowed to buy tickets for themselves and a single companion in the designated sections. For guests whose parties include more than two people, additional seating may be purchased in the section in front of the designated wheelchair/scooter platforms. These tickets may be purchased by phone through Tickets Unlimited, or at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum box office. For more information please call the Knoxville Civic Auditorium Coliseum box Office Monday-Friday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
